WORLD KICKBOXING ORGANISATION - Caters for Professional K-1 Rules, Kickboxing, Low Kick Kickboxing & Thaiboxing athletes. Working with some of the largest promoters around the world, to sanction all levels of galas and events.
WKO was founded as the sports have evolved, we are firm to keep to the rules but flexible to move with the times and offer our athletes the best opportunities around both nationally and internationally.

As the combination of legal and illegal strikes are distinctively different between each rules set/style.
There has to be a clear distinction between:​

Tournament Bouts (4-man or 8-man event)

These are clearly defined in WKO by the length, duration and amount of rounds to be contested.

WKO Sanctioned Tournament Bouts:
Tournaments are events which can consist of 4 Man or 8 Man events with a cash prize for the winner.

Base rules for bout lengths in Tournaments are:
Elimination rounds

Professional 3 x 2 minute round with 60 seconds rest

Super-Pro 3 x 3 minute round with 60 seconds rest

None Title Bouts
​
None title bouts consist of bouts which feature on Gala events that are pre-matched between the event organiser and coaches.

Bout lengths which are negotiable between event organiser and coaches are:

WKO Title Bouts
​
Consist of bouts to contest vacant or held titles within the weight tolerances of that title.

Bout lengths which are set by WKO and agreed by the event organiser then notified to coaches are:
